Hi all:

I have decided to stop coloring my  hair and let it go natural--which is an amount of gray, especially around the face. I am 64, other than gray, my hair is very dark brown, thick, wavy about shoulder length and in quite good condition. I dont really want to cut my hair, but would like to know about the pros/cons of low lights. Can low lights soften the gray look while still looking natural and not "dyed?"

Thanks so much for any advice .

Hi Gwenn,

Properly formulated and executed lowlights can definitely enhance gray hair. We do this all the time at our salon for clients who prefer not to completely color their gray. The key is to find a good colorist who understands how to choose the tones which complement gray hair.

Best
