I am new to this forum. I like to say thank you for the weekly tips I have received over the past few years. I have saved them and referred back to them many times. They have been life savers.

I am almost 61 years old. I have oily skin, enlarged pores, I tend to get blackheads. No matter what products I use and how much I wash my face it’s still dirty. I would appreciate any advice and/or products you would recommend to help with a good cleansing exfoliating regime to help with oily skin, enlarged pores and blackheads as well with makeup tips and recommendations for foundations for oily skin. I have been using an oil free tinted moisturizer. I do have a few expression and wrinkles lines around my eyes and forehead and deep lines around my mouth from smoking. I know I will probably never get rid of those lines. I also have acne scarring. I'm looking for a foundation that doesn't accentuate the pores and doesn't settle in the lines and provides good coverage of pores. My  skin seems to adsorb my makeup especially my blush. Thank you so much for your help, advice and input

Thank you again Eva. I will invest in one. You said nothing about using a toner or astringent after i cleanse my face and before putting on the hydrating fluid. So don't worry about that step. i am also going to schedule a consultation with u when i save enough money.

The Clarisonic Mia is a smaller and slightly less expensive version of this brush. It's still not cheap, but think of all of the wash cloths you'll save on! Otherwise, you can just use a wash cloth with the cleansing products I recommended, but it's really not the same (although definitely better than nothing or than using the wrong products).

Gwen,

I also wanted to recommend the enhanced e-book version of my book. It has 36 embedded how-to videos with my instruction on hair, skin care, and makeup.

Hi Gwen,

Welcome to our forum! I'm so glad that you have found my beauty tips to be helpful over the years. It sounds like you're using cleansing products that are too harsh (and cleansing too frequently), thus overly cleansing your skin, stripping it of it natural oils, and surfacely dehydrating it. To compensate for that, your skin produces extra oil underneath which causes blackheads. I recommend the following for you:

Redness Relief Cleansing Bar by Sunshine Botanicals. It has been a life-saver for me and my clients. I recommend using it twice per day with a Clarisonic Brush, which is another amazing product  for gently and thoroughly cleansing the skin, that I've been using religiously for the past couple of years. My clients also swear by it.

Moisturize and protect with the Essential Hydrating Fluid and the Total Eclipse Sun Block, also by Sunshine Botanicals. The serum will hydrate your skin and give it a great glow without clogging the pores. The sun block will help to protect your skin from further sun damage.

All of my clients with oily skin love the Oil-Free Matte Foundation by T. LeClerc. It has a smooth texture, provides great coverage, and doesn't cause breakouts.

I hope this helps!

Best

Eva
