gray cover

Eva, I tried demi perm color and my hair came out redish at the root. Next we tried permenant at the root and demi on the rest.

Next while on vacation my hair was dyed a permanent matrix 7N. How can I get back to a nice highlighed brown?

Magazine Editors' Event for My Book

Last week we held the pre-launch book event for my new book, Eva Scrivo on Beauty, for beauty and book editors from many different national publications. The book's official publication date is April 5, 2011. L'Oreal Professionnel sponsored this event - they have been such an amazing partner to me and my business!

About 30 editors in all came to our salon that day between the morning and afternoon sessions. We had chapter opener pages, along with how-to…

Color at home question

Hi, Eva.

I have short (layered) medium to dark brown hair.  I have had a hard time getting my color correct at a salon.  The few times I've had it done by a professional, it seems to really pull out red and brass tones even when they add additional ash..  I decided to color my own hair at home, and I've had great success finding the color that I like.  I've heard you say that you should only color the new growth (roots) and not the whole head of hair.  However, I have strands of gray…

This time of year you may be over-cleansing by using the same products as you would during the warmer months. Try switching to a gentle creamy cleanser to effectively break down cosmetics and purify…

Argan oil / Moroccan oil

Hi Eva,

I've been hearing a lot of good things about argan oil for hair (Moroccan Oil is a brand that comes to mind, among others). Is this product only for those that have thick, drier hair? My hair is fine. Would this weigh it down or are there benefits to those of us with wimpy hair?

Thanks,
Kelly

going gray

Hi all:

I have decided to stop coloring my  hair and let it go natural--which is an amount of gray, especially around the face. I am 64, other than gray, my hair is very dark brown, thick, wavy about shoulder length and in quite good condition. I dont really want to cut my hair, but would like to know about the pros/cons of low lights. Can low lights soften the gray look while still looking natural and not "dyed?"

Thanks so much for any advice…

Beauty Tip of the Week

Most women love the initial effect from a concealer - how it covers dark circles and other imperfections on the skin - but bothered how by the

end of the day it collects in the fine lines of the skin, making you

appear older. I have recently discovered a new technique to refresh your

makeup and…
