Hi Eva,  Just wondering should I be washing my hair right before I go to the salon to get a color glaze.  I have been washing it the day before and going to the salon with dirty hair.  Is that good or bad?

Hi Linda,
Because a glaze is a demi-permanent color, it works better if it does not have to get through residue that may be on your hair. Therefore, washing your hair prior to a glaze is a very good idea. In fact, I'm surprised that your salon does not do this since a glaze is usually applied to wet hair.

Thanks Eva. That is odd, they apply this color glaze to dry hair. Always have.... This glaze blends in with my grey hair. Should I be concerned they are doing it on dry hair?
When the hair is dry, it tends to absorb color unevenly because the hair is dryer on the ends. Water evens out color absorption. Does your hair color look darker on the ends? A glaze is a demi-permanent color and all such color needs to be applied to pre-washed (towel-dried and combed) hair. It even says so in the instructions on the color container. It's definitely something you should address with your colorist.

Thanks for the response Eva. No, my color looks the same on ends as rest of head. I will address this with my girl when I get it done again.
