Hi Eva! I'm a salon owner in Texas. My wife and i have an intimate 4 chair salon. You are an inspiration to us, as is your work. We recently began to offer INOA services and i have a question. I know Loreal specifies how and when to pull though the ends but i am wondering what is better for the hair in the long run. I have always refreshed previously colored ends with a non-0ammonia no-lift color like Richesse or Dia color; Color Touch by Wella or Colorance by Goldwell... but I've learned that INOA has about the same percentage of MEA as a traditional demi color.. but the Ph must be higher to ofer lift correct? so is it better to use INOA on the roots and a No-Lift color on the ends if the client gets the full color refreshed every time or every other time? ThankYou So Much!! I look forward to your Help!

What a great question. I have done both, using a demi to refresh the ends while INOA was still processing in the root area as well as ran INOA through the ends of the hair, depending on the circumstances. The most important question to ask your self when trying to decide what is the best product to use on a clients hair, should be based on porosity and the look you are trying to achieve. Personally, I like the ends of hair to be a bit lighter than the root area. So i might choose to comb INOA through the ends only for a few minutes.(The only hair color I think looks great when saturated from roots to the ends is red, so I might start the comb through immediately.
After a few appointments, clients will start to notice the color holding in their hair. You will not have to refresh it in the same manner as you did the first time. There are so many exciting ways to use this color, you cant even imagine. Remember, this amazing innovation is still hair color, and as an experienced professional and as an artist you must feel free to work the pigments as you have always done in the past with traditional color. Once I got over the fear of using a new product and formulated it just as I did with other color companies, it was liberating!
I hope this helps, please feel free to ask me any others questions you may have and would love to see you and your stylists at one of my classes at the Soho Academy in NYC.
All the best,
Eva
