Hair Cut

Hi Eva:

I have board straight, coarse hair. The weight of my hair causes it to lay close to my head.

I do have it cut in layers, but it doesn't seem to give it any volume. I've noticed that when stylists have thinned my hair one side now doesn't want to curve toward my chin, It curves out and away which drives me crazy. Why is that? Oh, currently my hair is mid-length just above my shoulders. Any suggestions.

Hi Toni,

It sounds like your stylist may be thinning your hair too close to the head and/or too much at the top of the head. It should be done more underneath the hair. Otherwise, it's really hard for me to answer your question without seeing a photo... Could you post one?
