I am growing out my hairstyle from short (Ellen Degeneres length).  How does one go from short  to longer, if i can make it, to chin length and survive going thru those horrible stages.  I prefer to have it layered so that i can mess it up, scrunch it and using a diffuser  It has some wave to it.  What do i say to my stylist?  thank you.

Dear Sandra,

One tip I can give you is to have your stylist cut your hair only when it is dry. When hair is wet, it stretches and appears longer. Cutting it hair is helpful to keeping you on your way to a longer length. Layers are also a great way to grow hair out. Headbands, clips and bobbie pins can all help you along the way! Seems like you have the right idea -- for the most part, it just takes patience! Good luck!

Hope that helps!

Best Wishes,
Eva
thanks for your insight an congratulations on your upcoming book. Patience is what will be needed going thru those awuful stages. do you recomend a styling creme that I can "scrunch" into my hair. I have some wave and i would like tpo encourage some curl/wave to give the hair some movement? thanks again.
is there any way to listen to replays of your broadcast on the computer or is another subcription required from Sirius? thanks
The Tasai crème from Shu Uemura is a great product to add some texture and wave to your hair. Alternatively I think the entire Bumble & Bumble curl line would be a great way to go to get a lot of wave- their surf spray is wonderful to get fun, wavy beach hair as well. Have fun with your short hair and remember it will all have been worth it when you get those long locks you’ve been waiting for.
